Nathan Jokovich is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans image making, painting, sound and sculpture within the affordances of emerging technology. What drives the body within the rhythms of contemporary life? His research investigates compression that occurs in latent spaces and the sensorial effect of the virtual on embodied relations. Glycerol is a significant material of interest due to its physical properties and its ability to telescope in and out of the body, as a driver of cellular energy, to inclusion in a multitude of products and forms. As such, Jokovich’s practice becomes a thought experiment in abstraction that slips between forms, relations and disciplines within imagined latent spaces.

Nathan Jokovich is currently completing an MFA (practice-based research) at Monash University, Melbourne. He completed a BFA (Hons) at Monash University in 2024. He holds a BFA (Majoring in Painting) from the University of Melbourne (Victorian College of Art) in 2015 and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from James Cook University in 2003. He has been involved in group exhibitions in Melbourne, Croatia and Berlin. His work is held in significant collections in Melbourne, Singapore, Germany, Greece and Croatia.
